Facebook has always been constantly changing its News Feed algorithm to show you what they assume you should see. Finally, the company recently released an update that lets you pick what you want to see, sort of.
The latest Facebook update lets you personalise your News Feed by picking out the type of posts you’d like to see first, be it from your friends or from Pages. These posts will be on the top of your News Feed and once you’ve browsed through your preferred posts, you will be able to see the usual News Feed updates from everybody else.
The update also makes it easier for you to find new Pages to follow, and manage which friends and Pages to follow or unfollow. Facebook will recommend Pages for you to see based on the Pages you’ve liked in the past. As for managing who to see and which news to hide from your News Feed, the update new comes with a new design. You can see a list of the top people, Pages, and groups that you’ve seen in your News Feed over the past week. From there, you can easily choose to unfollow any friend, Page or group if you don’t want to see their updates.
The update is now available for iOS, and will be rolling out on Android and desktop over the coming weeks. To access the new feature, open up the “More” menu on the bottom right corner. Scroll all the way down and tap on “News Feed Preferences”.
