Ever since OnePlus mentioned that the OnePlus 2 will be more expensive than the OnePlus One, there have been many rumours saying just how expensive the device will be. Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus, recently confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will be priced under US$450 (under RM1,720).
OnePlus posted onto their Facebook page saying that they have seen price estimates for the device going above US$500. However, despite featuring many top-of-the-line hardware, OnePlus says that they will keep their promise to their users.
“Honestly, it’s never been about the price. We simply make the best smartphones we can, and we go from there.”
So far, OnePlus has already unveiled several key specifications to the OnePlus 2. About three weeks ago, OnePlus said that the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor that is “cooler than ever”. It will be one of the first smartphones to use a USB Type-C port, and will feature a fingerprint scanner that is “faster than Apple’s Touch ID”. The device will be launched on 28 July 2015 via VR live stream, so stay tuned to see what the company has got to offer.
