If you’re disappointed with the incremental upgrade of the Sony Xperia Z3+ (or Z4), then good news: as many as three variations of the Xperia Z5 are reportedly launching this September in Japan. If the rumour is to be believed, the Xperia Z5 will offer some seriously powerful hardware, including the yet to be released Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.
As far as specification goes, only the hardware of the Xperia Z5 have been leaked. As mentioned, it is said to be powered by the promising Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Other rumoured specifications include a fingerprint sensor and a generous 4,500mAh battery.
In the camera department, the Xperia Z5 is claimed to have a 21MP Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor as the rear camera. This particular sensor is capable of 4K video recording along with HDR support. Unfortunately, that’s all the information that the rumour is suggesting.
As always, this is only a rumour after all, so do take it with a grain of salt. That being said, a September launch is rather interesting, seeing how IFA 2015 will be taking place in the very same month. Then again, it will be held in Berlin, Germany, not Japan.
In any case, if the Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Ultra will be unveiled in two months time, it will prove to be an exciting time for the Japanese company. With the Xperia Z3+ appearing in SIRIM’s database just last week, we can probably assume that Sony Malaysia will bring in future devices in a timely manner to our shores.
