As the demand for broadband Internet goes higher, so does the speed. It seems like the telco have starting to recognize the demand (properly) and here is yet another proof: Maxis has quietly begin to offer 100 Mbps of Internet speed under its Fibre Internet plan.
The new speed certainly complements the service’s existing speed offerings of 10 Mbps, 20 Mbps, and 30 Mbps. However, it is rather hefty at RM 398 per month inclusive of GST although MaxisONE customers are able to subscribe the speed for slightly less at RM 330.
As a comparison, Time Fibre is offering the same speed at RM 179. However, Time Fibre 100 Mbps service does have a data quota of 100 GB which will then be throttled to 10 Mbps – still considered as fast enough for a lot of consumers out there.
As for the new Maxis Fibre 100 Mbps plan, there is no data quota from what we’ve seen on Maxis website. Of course, the service is on best effort basis and is tied to Maxis own Fair Usage Policy. To know more, head on to Maxis Fibre’s website right here.
