The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 series.
Well, this doesn’t happen often, but we have spotted a rather mysterious Lenovo device in our usual search in SIRIM’s database. Dubbed as Lenovo YT3-850F and Lenovo YT3-850M (the latter being a Mobile version), a quick Google search shows that these two devices could very well be the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 3.
Judging by the model name “YT3”, it’s very likely to stand for Yoga Tablet 3. Other than being registered in SIRIM’s database, these devices also appeared in Bluetooth SIG’s website, which gave us a few details on these yet to be announced products. A device named “Lenovo Yoga Tablet 3 870” also made an appearance in GFXBench.
However, the specifications listed in both websites are a little strange. The mysterious Lenovo devices seem to have an 8-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display, a quad-core Qualcomm chipset clocked at 1.1GHz (which is probably the Snapdragon 210) paired with either 1GB or 2GB of RAM, 12GB of internal storage (likely 16GB of storage), LTE connectivity, and Android 5.1 out of the box.
While these specifications suggest that the unannounced devices are entry-level offerings, the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 is much better equipped, so we’re not entirely sure if these two devices are its successors. There are also a few inconsistencies with the hardware listed on Bluetooth SIG and GFXBench’s websites, with the latter claiming the Yoga Tablet 3 only has a 4.4-inch display and Android 5.0 out of the box.
In any case, we could be hearing from Lenovo itself very soon, seeing how it has now appeared in SIRIM’s database as well. It will be interesting to find out if these unannounced devices are indeed the successors to the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2.
