Even though you can generally game with Apple Mac depending on the model you choose, the company is not so big into gaming when it comes to their computers unlike iPhone and iPad. So, this particular design patent that is newly granted to the company is rather odd because it is a gaming headset – a product that is generally out of their usual focus.
According to the patent document, the inventors of this design are Robert Brunner and Christopher Kuh which apparently part of the team at a design studio called Ammunition. Interestingly though, the studio has previously worked on various Beats products.
In fact, you can immediately see how similar the gaming headset’s design to Beats general design language. The biggest difference that this gaming headset has as compared to other existing Beats headset is that it comes with its own microphone.
As interesting as this might be, it doesn’t mean that Apple will actually release a gaming headset into the market. These are still drawings at this moment but nevertheless, it will still be quite interesting to see Apple dips its toes into the gaming peripherals market by harnessing the powerful brand strength that Beats has in the audio peripherals market.
