Excited about what OnePlus has got for its next flagship smartphone? The company already announced that the OnePlus 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor, and now, OnePlus just unveiled that it will be the first smartphone to use the latest USB Type-C.
The announcement was made on the company’s social media posts, saying that they “want to lead the way in power connectivity”. USB Type-C is a very small and fully reversible connector with much faster data speeds and much higher power output compared to traditional USB adaptors.
Just last week, OnePlus unveiled that the OnePlus 2 will use a Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor that has been enhanced in the hardware and software so it won’t overheat. The OnePlus 2 is already building up to be a very exciting device however, the price may not be as competitive as what we’re seeing on the One. OnePlus also announced that because the Snapdragon 810 is a much more expensive component- almost 60% higher than the 801, the price of the 2 will be higher than US$322. If OnePlus keeps its promise – a cooler Snapdragon 810, USB Type-C port, I’m sure we all won’t mind paying slightly more, right?
