The latest iteration to Motorola’s affordable Moto G lineup has been leaked in a video. Although it seems to be sporting a new back design, the 2015 Moto G’s hardware is largely unchanged from the 2014 model. At least, if the leaked specifications prove to be legitimate.
In the video above, we can see that the front design of the Moto G did not change much from last year’s model. It still seems to sport front-facing speakers and a plastic construction. However, once the device’s back panel is shown, it is a clear departure from previous iterations of the Moto G. In fact, some consumers might argue that this new back design isn’t as good-looking as its predecessors’ rear panel, although it is now textured.
In terms of specification, the 2015 Moto G is said to retain the same 5-inch 720p display of the 2014 model. It also has only 1GB of RAM, but paired with a newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. It also has 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded with a microSD card. Other specifications include a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing shooter, and Android 5.1.1 out of the box.
Offering a mostly pure Android experience, the Moto G has quite a number of fans. It is essentially the go-to Android smartphone for those who do not fancy the Nexus smartphones. Seeing how the Nexus 5 has been discontinued, consumers wanting for a stock Android smartphone will have to look at the Nexus 6, which retails for RM2,199 in Malaysia.
In any case, as this information on the 2015 Moto G did not come directly from Motorola, it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt. That being said, the video does look mighty convincing.
