Final Fantasy 7 has finally become a reality. Not the original, but the complete remake for current generation consoles that fans have been waiting for. Square Enix announced the existence of the game during its presentation at E3 last night, and has said that the game will be coming to PlayStation 4 first.
Nothing else is known about the game aside from the fact that it exists. The teaser trailer showed updated scenes of what the setting will look like with today’s graphics, as well as as short clip of Barret and Cloud walking through the slums of Midgard. Of course, this wasn’t quite as impressive since we have already seen the FF7 gang rendered in HD when Advent Children was released years ago.
A version of FF7 is already available on PS4, although this version happens to be a port from the PC release; which itself was a HD port of the original game.
It looks like Square Enix is finally prepared to stop teasing fans and is giving the community the game that it has been waiting for since the PlayStation 3 tech demo that broke so many hearts. Hopefully the FF7 is still as compelling as it was 18 years ago.
