There are plenty of Chinese smartphone manufacturers have made Malaysia as one of its target market and here comes yet another company into the list: Doogee. Truth to be told, the company has actually announced its arrival in our shores last month, but Doogee Malaysia has since taken its presence to the next level by launching its own online store.
For starters, Doogee Malaysia has released four smartphones in Malaysia which is led by a model called Ibiza F2 that is priced at RM 669. Built with an aluminium-based chassis and a 5-inch 960 x 540 IPS display, the LTE-enabled device also features a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6732 quad-core 64-bit processor together with 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal storage.
The phone’s storage is further supplemented with a microSD slot that able to support card with storage of up to 64 GB. Other than that, Ibiza F2 is also equipped with a 13-megapixels rear camera, 5-megapixels front camera, and 2,500 mAh battery.
Next in the list is the Turbo-Mini F1 which is priced at RM 559. Just like Ibiza F2, this particular smartphone is also powered by the same 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6732 quad-core processor but is equipped with a smaller 4.5-inch display even though it still has the same 960 x 540 resolution.
Likewise, the Turbo-Mini F1 also features 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD slot and LTE connectivity. The smartphone also comes with 8-megapixels rear camera, 5-megapixels front camera, and 2,000 mAh battery.
The third device in the list is the DG 580 which is listed at RM 499. It features the biggest display among all four Doogee Malaysia models at 5.5-inch although the display resolution is once again identical to the others at 960 x 540. The processing power for the device is provided by a 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor alongside 1GB RAM, and 8GB of internal storage.
Camera-wise, the DG 580 features 8-megapixels camera sensors for both of its rear and front. Matching Ibiza F2, this model is also equipped with a 2,500 mAh battery. However, the DG 580 does not feature LTE connectivity.
Last but not least, there is also Leo DG280 which is the most affordable model of them all at only RM 299. Equipped with a 4.5-inch 854 x 480 IPS display and 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor, the smartphone also comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage just like its three other siblings.
Photography duties on DG280 are handles by a 5-megapixels camera on its rear and another 1.3-megapixels camera is located on its front while its power source comes in the form of 1,800 mAh battery. Interestingly, the Malaysian unit comes standard with Android 5.0 Lollipop as its operating system.
For those who are interested to purchase any of these devices, the company is now offering a discount of RM 100 for the first 100 customers that purchase them through Doogee Malaysia’s online store which is still valid when we tried it just moments ago. Alternatively, users are able to get their hands on these devices through one of Doogee’s authorized retailers throughout Malaysia although the RM 100 discount can’t be used over there.
Meanwhile, Doogee Malaysia has confirmed that two more models – S6000 and Y100 Pro – will making its way to Malaysia very soon. With that, we assume that the brand is here to stay for the long run.
