Samsung has released four new curved desktop monitors for the Malaysian market. Announced at CES 2015 these range from 24-inch displays to 34-inches, and feature Samsung’s new curved display technology.
The Samsung curved monitors ship with a FHD VA panel with a refresh rate of 60Hz and 4ms response time. However, the largest of these – the 34-inch S34E790C – display sports a 3440 x 1440 resolution instead. The aspect ratio ranges from 16:9 on the 24-, 27-, and 31.5-inch monitors, to 21:9 on the 34-inch version.
The number of port options also varies across all the sizes of the monitors as well. With the 24-inch S24E591C sporting one VGA and one HDMI port; the 27-inch S27D591C and 31.5-inch S32E590C carrying two HDMI and one Display Port, and the 34-inch S34E790C packing two HDMI ports, one Display Port, and five USB 3.0 ports (one of which is a USB type-B connector). Each monitor – except for the S24E591C – also packs a pair of built in speakers.
AMD’s FreeSync technology is available for the Samsung Curved Monitors, and is activated by switching the monitor to Game Mode. FreeSync adjusts the refresh rate of the monitor to match the output of the graphics card, thereby producing a smoother gaming experience over traditional V-sync options.
All of the Samsung Curved Monitors are already on sale in Malaysia. The S24E591C retails for RM999, the S27D590C for RM1299, the S32E590C for RM2199, and the S34E790C for RM4299.
