More information has been revealed about the upcoming Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition, which will mainly focus on the Star Wars franchise. The fact that the The Star Wars portion of the next installment in the Disney Infinity series will be split into three playsets has already been made known, and now the developers have shown what the figures from the Star Wars Rise Against the Empire playset will look like.
The Rise Against the Empire playset features Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, and features iconic set piece levels like the Speederbike chase on the forest moon of Endor, and the Rebel attack on the Death Star during the final space battle at the end of Star Wars Episode IV. Figures of Han Solo, Chewbacca and Darth Vader will be available and sold separately; although there is no word on the other characters from the other two playsets.
Disney’s press release seems to indicate that all the characters can be used in any of the Star Wars playsets, which would be a nice step away from the previous Avengers model that only allowed certain characters to join a given playset. As usual, all characters will be able to interact with each other in the ToyBox mode.
The Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack will be available in August for US$64.99 and features the Twilight of the Republic playset with Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. No price for the additional playsets has been announced, nor has there been any indication of the price of the figures. However, it shouldn’t be too different from the price of the current line of Disney Infinity playsets and figures.
Other announced playsets include one from Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Pixar’s upcoming movie Inside Out.
