Now that iOS 9 has been unveiled at the WWDC 2015 keynote, will it be available on your old iPhone and iPad? Apple has listed out all the devices that will be receiving iOS 9 software update.
It looks like the rumours were right after all. iOS 9 packs a whole load of improvements under the hood for both iPhones and iPads, and is available even for older devices. iOS updates every year will usually drop support for the oldest devices however this time round, Apple has decided to bring iOS 9 to most of its mobile devices all the way down to iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad mini and 5th Generation iPod touch.

iOS 9 comes with a whole bunch of enhanced as well as new features however, do note that not all of them will be available for all the listed devices. Features are subjected to change, and may not be available in all regions or all languages. Things like Transit information in Maps, Apple Pay, and such are not available in Malaysia.
iOS 9 will be released in “fall” in the states, which is about end of September to December 2015. Apple says that this software update will be significantly smaller than iOS 8, which requires 5GB of free space. For those who wish to get iOS 9 before anyone else, Apple’s public beta program will be available in July, so stay tuned for the announcement.
