Gionee seems to have a slew of new devices to show this month, starting with the Gionee Marathon M4 and M5. The M4 has been confirmed by Gionee to pack a very generous 5,000mAh battery, while the M5 – which is said to have two batteries – will be juiced up by an even bigger 6,020mAh battery.
It’s rather odd of Gionee to unveil as many as two successors to the Marathon M3 at the same time, but it seems like the M4 is the closest to its predecessor in terms of specification. Just like the M3, the M4 has a 5,000mAh battery, but it has gained 4G LTE connectivity and a metal frame. Truth be told, the design is somewhat similar to the Leagoo Elite 2 that we have reviewed.
The Gionee M5, on the other hand, has been confirmed by the company to pack a huge 6,020mAh battery that will provide up to four days of battery life. Unfortunately, Gionee did not clarify much on the rumoured dual-battery setup of the M5. Whether or not the 6,020mAh capacity is a combination of two 3,010mAh batteries remains to be seen.
Gionee will be holding an event on the 10th of June 2015 to launch several new products. It’s highly likely that these two smartphones will be unveiled on that day.
