Sony may have a new SmartBand Talk now that features an e-ink display on its wearable, but it doesn’t mean that the company will forget about its original SmartBand. An app for a device called SmartBand 2 was recently posted on the Play Store showing off a pretty good looking band that packs a heart rate monitor.
It’s removed now, but not before it’s been captured by the eagle-eyed individuals. The Sony SmartBand 2 looks like a much nicer version of the SmartBand, and comes with a new heartrate monitor to improve its tracking. It still packs the usual features under the hood, such as tracking steps and sleep, vibrates when there are notifications, and acts as an alarm.
Just like the SmartBand and SmartBand Talk, this new wearable from the company uses Sony’s LifeLog app to help store and display the information. The app posted onto the Play Store is a dedicated SmartBand 2 app that lets you manage the wearable such as updates, set the alarm and such.
Sadly though, there are no information about when the wearable will become available, but since it’s been published onto the Play Store, it should be around the corner. Plus, Sony’s been pushing out new devices every now and then lately, maybe the company will have a surprise for us in the near future.
