Yesterday, AMD has officially took the drape off its brand new 6th generation A-Series processors for notebooks which was previously codenamed as Carrizo. At the same time, a number of OEMs have brought new laptops that are equipped with the new processors to be showcased at the launch event for these processors.
Since the 6th generation A-Series processors are designed for mainstream market, it didn’t surprise us to see the product line-up that AMD’s OEM partners have chosen to showcase at the event. They include Acer Aspire E15 E5-552G, Dell Inspiron 15 5555, HP Pavilion 17, and Toshiba Satellite L50DT-C.
That being said, some of the laptops do feature different graphics configurations such as the ASUS X555D which features Dual Graphics capability and Dell Inspiron 15 5755 that is equipped with AMD Radeon R8 M350 GPU. Furthermore, a 26-inch HP Pavilion All in One PC and ZOTAC ZBOX nano made an appearance as well which showed how the AMD 6th generation A-Series processor could be adapted into other form factor.
Since this is a general showcase, we were not informed of the local availability and pricing for any of these devices. That being said, it is probably just a matter of time before we will start seeing these products at retail stores as AMD has stated that products based on its new 6th generation A-Series processors will be meeting consumers starting from this month onward.
