So, the rumours are true: AMD is not going to show its next flagship Radeon graphics card – said to be called R9 Fury – here in Computex 2015. Then again, the company still took the opportunity to tease the card during the launch of its 6th Generation A-Series processors yesterday.
Good thing is that it will not take too long before the company will finally unveil the new graphics card for all to see. As revealed by Matt Skynner, Corporate VP and General Manager for Products at AMD, the company will talk more about it on 16 June at E3 which is one of the biggest video games show in the world.
During the closing part of the press conference, AMD’s President and CEO, Dr. Lisa Su also brought out what seems to be a chip that contains High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) within it. While Dr. Lisa didn’t actually say it out right, we believe that chip is the new Radeon GPU since AMD has announced earlier this month that the next generation Radeon graphics card will be the first to feature HBM.
Since we are only two weeks away from E3, expect even more details regarding the new Radeon to pop up along the way.
