Asus’ Zensation event brought with it a whole suite of new products, including the ZenFone Selfie. While it looks like the ZenFone 2 in appearance, it’s actually powered by a Qualcomm processor instead of an Intel Atom chipset, not to mention a few new trick up its sleeves as well.
Unlike the Asus ZenFone 2, the ZenFone Selfie has a laser autofocus system, which should speed up focusing time. In the camera department, both the front and rear cameras are 13MP shooters equipped with a dual-tone LED flash; yes, even for the front camera.
Rounding out the ZenFone Selfie’s specifications are a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, LTE connectivity, and Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI out of the box. It also comes in three new choices of colour: Chic Pink, Aqua Blue and Pure White. These new colours seem to have a matte finish to it as well.
There are also a few neat accesssories for the ZenFone Selfie, including the ZenFone Selfie MyView casing and the ZenFone Selfie Swing. The casing is basically a normal flip cover with a cutout for the front camera, while the Selfie Swing is meant to extend your reach, much like the infamous selfie stick. It also doubles as a neat kickstand.
At the time of writing, the price and availability of the Asus ZenFone Selfie have not been announced yet. Oddly, Asus has yet to reveal the amount of internal storage and RAM that the new device has as well. We’ll update this post once the pertaining information are made available to us.
