Lenovo has revealed three new laptops due late next month ahead of the Lenovo Tech World Conference in Beijing, China. The Z41 and Z51 are performance class laptops designed for both home entertainment and productivity, while the Ideapad 100 is an entry level device aimed that people who only want the bare essentials on a computer.
The Z41 and Z51 (shown above) are 14- and 15-inch laptops powered by Intel’s latest Core processor technology. The Broadwell based machines ship with Intel HD Graphics, but can be upgraded with AMD’s mobile Radeon GPUs; in the case of the Z41 this would be the AMD Radeon R7-M360, while the Z51 can fit up to an AMD Radeon R9-M375. Memory options range up to 16GB RAM, while internal storage starts with a 1TB HDD and goes all the way up to a 1TB SSHD. Both the Z41 amd Z51 are fitted with 1080p displays with a brightness of 200 nits.
The biggest difference between the Z41 and Z51 – besides the size – is the presence of Intel’s Realsense 3D camera on the larger model. The Realsense camera allows users to access a range of additional functions on the laptop, like gesture controls and 3D scanning of objects.
On the other end of the spectrum is the Ideapad 100. This laptop runs on an Intel Bay Trail-M 3540 processor, although upgrade options allow this to be offset with an impressive 8GB RAM. Storage options range from a 500GB HDD to a 128GB SSD, while graphics are handled by Intel’s Integrated HD Graphics. It really has the bare minimum to be called a laptop, and this is more likely suited for people who can live without a lot of things on their computers; or even for parents of children who shouldn’t be distracted while doing work on their computers.
All three laptops are due to be released at the end of June, with no specific news about availability in Malaysia. The Z41 and Z51 prices begins at US$499 (about RM1815), and the Z51 with Intel Realsense 3D camera comes stock with an Intel Core i5 processor at US$599 (about RM2179). The Ideapad 100 maintains its budget designation by beginning with a retail price of US$249 (about RM906).
