Back in 2013, DiGi and Deezer have partnered together to deliver music streaming service to the telco customers. Under the partnership, selected DiGi postpaid plans come with free Deezer Premium+ subscriptions which offers unlimited access to around 35 million songs in its catalogue on computers, tablets, and smartphones.
However, this will come to an end on 31 May though according to a mass SMS (as shown above) that DiGi sent to its customers yesterday.
According to explanation we received from DiGi’s PR team, the service is no longer part of the selected DiGi’s postpaid plans due to the fact that the initial contract between the two companies has just ended. DiGi customers still able to subscribe to Deezer Premium+ service through the telco though but at the standard fee of RM 14.90 per month.
That being said, the first two months will be waived under an on-going promo by the telco. Alternatively, customers can also consider DiGiMusic Play or DiGiMusic Pluz services that allow users to download unlimited amount of songs to their mobile device through DiGi Music Play app on Android, BlackBerry, and iOS for RM 5 per month.
This is rather unfortunate if you are one of DiGi’s postpaid customers that have been enjoying this rather convenient value-added service for the past two years and so. Good thing that we are not short of music streaming providers here in Malaysia in case you are considering to switch over which include Spotify, MixRadio, Raku, Rdio, Tidal and many more.
