On top of announcing new 15” MacBook Pro with Retina Display equipped with Force Touch Trackpad, and a cheaper 27” iMac with 5K Retina Display, Apple also quietly launched its first iPhone Lightning Dock.
Apple has been using a Lightning port since the iPhone 5 and it looks like they have finally decided to launch a dock for it. The dock features a Lightning port, and works with all iPhone models from the iPhone 5 and up, including the 5.5” iPhone 6 Plus, as well as the 5th generation iPod touch.
On top of charging your iPhone, the Lightning Dock can also sync with your computer when connected, lets you “enjoy clear audio during speakerphone calls” when docked, and has a 3.5mm audio jack so you can connect to a powered speaker to play your music and podcasts.
The dock is available on Apple Malaysia’s online store and will be shipped from 1 – 3 days for RM149. There are plenty of other third-party Lightning docks in the market for a cheaper price, but if you want something official (and expensive) from Apple, check the item out from the store.
