True to its promise during the global unveiling of Mi 4i in India last month, Xiaomi has finally revealed that it will be launching the new smartphone in Malaysia next week on Thursday, 21 May. This was revealed through a press invite which has just landed in our inbox just moments ago.
As pointed in the invite, the Malaysian launch will be attended by Donovan Sung, the Head of Product for Xiaomi Global (which was previously in Malaysia for the launch of Redmi 2), and Steve Vickers, the company’s General Manager for Southeast Asia. It is needless to say that we expect to see the pricing and availability date for Xiaomi Mi 4i to be revealed at this launch event.
Said to be under development for 18 months, the Xiaomi Mi 4i is packed with second-generation 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor together with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. Pre-installed with Android 5.0 Lollipop underneath its MIUI 6 interface, the dual-SIM LTE smartphone also features a 5-inch full HD IPS display, 13-megapixels rear camera, 5-megapixels front camera, and 3,120 mAh battery.
