Alleged images of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active have made it to the Internet. If the device pictured is in fact the S6 Active, it seems like the glass black has been substituted with a plastic one; not that this comes at a surprise.
On the front, the capacitive back and menu buttons have been replaced with physical ones, while the fingerprint sensor present on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge is no longer there. Looking at the overall design of the alleged S6 Active, it does look like a device that Samsung have designed. After all, it was previously rumoured to be similar to the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3. See the resemblance?
Unfortunately, the source did not mention if we will see the return of a removable battery or a microSD card slot with the Galaxy S6. Judging by the images of the alleged device’s rear panel, the four “screws” on the back panel look rather fishy, although the back panel doesn’t seem to be removable either.
In terms of specification, the S6 Active is believed to be equipped with a generous 3,500mAh battery (like we have previously reported), which is very much an upgrade from the S6 and S6 edge’s smaller 2,550mAh and 2,600mAh battery respectively. Other hardware of the S6 Active is presumably the same as its less rugged variants.
In any case, take these leaked information with a grain of salt. After all, these leaked images and specifications do not come directly from Samsung itself. Hopefully, the rumoured 3,500mAh battery powering the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will turn out to be true.
