After much anticipation, Asus has finally launched the ZenFone 2 in Malaysia. Surprisingly, contrary to what we have previously reported, all four variants of the ZenFone 2 are available on our shores. The prices start from RM599 for the 5-inch variant and all the way up to RM1,299 for the flagship 5.5-inch model with 4GB of RAM.
The top of the line ZE551ML ZenFone 2 is equipped with an Intel Atom Z3580 2.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The one-tier down model is also called the ZE551ML, but it has a slower 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor and only 2GB of RAM.
The third variant, the ZE550ML ZenFone 2, also has a 5.5-inch display, but it only has a 720p resolution. Other than that, it has a 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor that is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. And then we have the ZE500CL, the most affordable variant. Of course, seeing how it’s the most budget-friendly option, it only has a 5-inch 720p display, an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage.
In terms of connectivity, all four variants of the ZenFone 2 support LTE. But in the camera department, only the top three variants of the ZenFone 2 is equipped with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing snapper with PixelMaster technology for improved low-light performance. The most affordable ZE500CL, on the other hand, is equipped with a conventional 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing snapper. It also has a 2,500mAh battery while the other three variants have a bigger 3,000mAh battery.
