Hugo Barra during the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 4i
Xiaomi may have recently unveiled a new smartphone in India, the Xiaomi Mi 4i, but it looks like that’s not all for the year. According to a leaked product roadmap, it looks like the Chinese company has got four more devices to announce for the rest of the year, along with some basic specs.
We’re all expecting Xiaomi to launch a Mi 5 this year, so, no surprise in seeing it there. According to the timeline, the Mi 5 will be unveiled in November this year. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will sport a 5.2” QHD display, be powered by a new Snapdragon 820 SoC, and will come with a 20.2MP rear camera.
Another product we’re expecting Xiaomi to announce this year is the Redmi Note 2. The device is scheduled for July this year, with a 5.5” Full HD display, Snapdragon 410 chipset, with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. Interestingly, at the same time, it looks like Xiaomi will introduce a Redmi Note 2 Pro as well, featuring similar specs, except that it will have a Snapdragon 615 processor instead.
Finally, another interesting product scheduled for the year is a Xiaomi Mi 4s. The device is listed as pending, and is scheduled to be released just next month. While the Mi 4i is a lower-end version of the existing Xiaomi Mi 4, the Mi 4s is a higher-end version. The device will feature a 5” Full HD display, Snapdragon 810 processor, 13MP OIS rear camera, and a 4MP UltraPixel front camera.
The leaked roadmap also shows off some of Huawei’s upcoming smartphone for 2015, including Huawei Ascend D8 which should be due this month, Huawei Mate 8 for next month, two Honor devices for July 2015, Huawei Honor 7 for August, and another Honor device for December this year.
The second half of 2015 certainly does look very interesting for the smartphone industry with all these new devices scheduled. Which one are you looking forward to the most?
