If you’ve been waiting for HTC to bring its latest flagship smartphone to Malaysia, your wait is over. The Taiwanese company is launching the HTC One M9+ in Malaysia later this evening, and according to our sources, it will be available for purchase starting 30 April 2015.
Not to be confused with the HTC One M9 that was announced at MWC 2015 earlier this year, the One M9+ is a newer device that was announced just last month. The One M9+ is not only larger in terms of size, HTC also packed more goodness under the hood such as fingerprint sensor, 20.7MP Duo Camera and such.
On the outside, the One M9+ looks pretty much the same as the One M9. It is made up of dual tone metal unibody with fine “jewellery-grade hairline brush” details. What sets it apart from the One M9 is the front of the One M9+ now has a physical home button, which also acts as a fingerprint sensor. There are two colour options – the elegant (gold on silver), and the timeless (gunmetal grey).
Specifications wise, the HTC One M9+ has a 5.2” QHD display, making it the “highest definition display ever”. It is powered by a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
As mentioned before, it looks like HTC is finally bringing back its Duo Camera, which isn’t featured on the One M9. This time round, gone are the 4MP UltraPixel cameras found on the One M8, HTC is using 20.7MP camera sensors instead. The UltraPixel camera has made its way to the front of the device.
Other specs include BoomSound speaker, 2,840mAh battery and of course, LTE connectivity.
The HTC One M9+ will go on sale starting 30 April 2015 for a retail price that’s rumoured to be RM2,599. What about the HTC One M9 you asked? According to HTC Malaysia, the device will not be launched in Malaysia. Check out our previous post for more information about that.
