Over at its global media event in New York last week, Acer has unveiled plenty of new devices that will be released in markets throughout the world including Malaysia. In addition to those that we have already confirmed last week such as the Leap wearable products and gaming-oriented Predator series, a number of other products will be heading to our shores as well as confirmed by Acer Malaysia.
One such device is the new Switch 10 E which will be launched in Malaysia tomorrow. As you might know from our initial hands-on experience with the device, Switch 10 E is a detachable 2-in-1 Windows 8.1 notebook featuring a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display and powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processor.
Built with much improved Snap Hinge 2 that acts as the connector between Switch 10 E’s tablet and its keyboard dock, Acer claimed that the Switch 10 E has a battery life of up to 12 hours. At this moment, Acer Malaysia has yet to reveal the amount of RAM and internal storage that Switch 10 E will come with for our market.
In addition to Switch 10 E, Acer Malaysia has also confirmed that another convertible Windows 8.1 laptop called Aspire R 11 will also be made available in our shores soon. Featuring a 360-degrees swivel hinge that allows users to utilize it in several different position, the laptop is equipped with an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 touch display that is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass.
In effort to reduce the strain on user’s eyes especially after prolonged use, Acer has implemented what the company dubbed as the Acer Bluelightshield into Aspire R 11’s display that lowers down blue light emission from the screen. Since it is powered by either Intel Celeron or Intel Pentium processor, we don’t expect the Aspire R11 to be costly although the laptop is still able to support up to 8GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive.
Acer Malaysia has also confirmed that its new Iconia One 8 B1-820 tablet will be coming to our shores soon as well. Apart from having an 8-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display, the Android 5.0 tablet also features Acer Precision Plus technology that apparently provides enhanced accuracy to deliver better touch and writing experience on the tablet.
Powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processor, it also comes with 1GB of RAM and with storage options of either 16GB or 32GB. Claimed to have up to 8.5 hours of battery life, the Iconia One B1-820 comes standard with a 0.3-megapixels front camera and 5-megapixels rear camera.
Despite the confirmation, Acer Malaysia are still keeping the actual release date and prices for these products under wrap for the time being. Nevertheless, do stay tuned tomorrow as we will bring you more information regarding the imminent release of Switch 10 E in Malaysia.
