Philips announced a slew of new headphones to be released here in Malaysia, including the professional DJ headphones by Armin van Buuren – the A5-PRO, and even headphones that use Lightning connectors. Gibson Innovations (previously known as WOOX Innovations) will be in charge of the distribution of Philips’ 2015 range of audio devices.
Gibson Innovations and Philips unveiled four new headphones. The most prominent of them, is the professional DJ headphones A5-PRO which was made in collaboration with the 5-time World’s Best DJ winner, Armin van Buuren. The A5-PRO uses 50mm high-definition neodymium drivers and can handle high power handling up to 3500mW. The professional headphones for DJs also has replaceable bayonet mount cushions, which comes in three sizes. Also, the headphones can be twisted and folded for ease of storage.
Philips Fidelio F1 headphones feature a slim, lightweight and compact design, that is easy for storage and travel. It packs 40mm drivers with high-powered neodymium magnets to deliver unrivalled audio clarity. Equipped with an in-line control and microphone, it allows users to easily transition between music and calls.
Next up, is the Philips Fidelio NC1, where the ‘NC’ stands for noise cancelling. It also uses 40mm drivers similar to the Fidelio F1 but is tuned to provide optimal sound performance with noise cancellation in mind. The headphones can be used with or without battery support, where the battery is to power the active noise-cancellation feature. It also ensures comfort as it sports ear cushions made of memory foam, which will give users the best fit.
Not only that, the Philips Fidelio M2L Headphones lets users enjoy 24-bit 48-kHz high-resolution audio format from their iOS device via the Lightning connector. Besides that, the headphones even have a digital-to-analogue (DAC) convertor built right in.
Bearing the slogan ‘Tsunami of Sound’, both the A5-PRO and Fidelio NC1 are now available at retailers nationwide with the A5-PRO being sold for RM1,999 while the Fidelio NC1 will have a price tag of RM1,799. Pricing and availability for the Fidelio F1 and Fidelio M2L has not yet been disclosed.
