Samsung Malaysia has officially announced the arrival of its latest range of flagship Smart TVs, the curved SUHD TV. Like the “S” moniker in its mobile products, the “S” in SUHD is Samsung’s way of showcasing the cutting-edge technology the new SUHD TVs bring into the home entertainment industry.
There will be three SUHD TV models that are now available in Malaysia: the 55-inch JS8000, the 65-inch JS9000 and the high-end 78-inch JS9500. There are other models, such as the massive 108-inch variant or the smaller 48-inch one, but Samsung says the company will be focusing on the three models showcased here today for the Malaysian market.
As the leading TV manufacturer in Malaysia for nine consecutive years, the new SUHD TVs feature impressive new technologies. For example, all of the SUHD models feature a new nano-crystal semiconductor technology, which Samsung claims produces the “highest colour purity and light efficiency”. This technology produces a wide range of colours, up to 64 times colour expression compared to conventional TVs.
Inside, an intelligent SUHD re-mastering engine optimises all content to match the colour and brightness reproduction of the SUHD TV, automatically analysing the brightness of images to minimise power consumption while also producing optimum contrast levels.
On the outside, the SUHD TVs are also designed to match modern home styles, where the TVs are said to be inspired by contemporary art and architecture. The JS9500, for example, features a chamfer bezel design, while the JS9000 has a soft, textured shirring design at the rear that enhances the curved display.
Finally, the SUHD TVs are all powered by Tizen, Samsung’s home-grown and flexible software platform. This means that not only do all SUHD TVs feature a new Smart Hub, the new Briefing on TV allows all Samsung Smart TVs to sync with Samsung mobile devices and display important items like the time, weather, calendars and even alarms. The new Quick Connect feature allows users to seamlessly stream content from a Samsung mobile device to the SUHD TVs.
The three new SUHD TVs are now available in Malaysia, and they are all available for consumers to view and experience at Pavillion KL from tomorrow until this Sunday (12 April). The retail prices are as below, inclusive of GST:
SUHD TV 78JS9500: RM39,999
SUHD TV 65JS9000: RM24,999
SUHD TV 55JS8000: RM9,999
