It seems to be a trend nowadays for GoPro action cameras to survive against all odds. This particular GoPro survived a 10,000 feet drop after it was seemingly knocked out of the owner’s helmet while skydiving. The video above shows how falling from a dizzying height looks like, and we have to admit: we get dizzy just by looking at it.
The uploader of this video, Kristoffer Örstadius, said that his dad found the GoPro in question lying in a field outside of Kristianstad, Sweden. According to the timestamp of the last footage taken by the action camera, the video above was shot four years ago.
As it turns out, the GoPro camera has been returned to its rightful owner just one day after the video was posted on YouTube. The owner is a skydiver based in the city of Everöd, Sweden. At the time of writing, the video has already been viewed 255,000 times.
Previously, a GoPro camera survived 17 months underwater after it fell into a river. If these cases are testaments to the GoPro’s durability, it’s not hard to see why it is favoured by many consumers over the years.
