Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might want to check the Software Update section of their phone as the Android Lollipop 5.0.1 software update is now available via OTA. Bearing the build number LRX22C.N910CXXU1BOC3, the update brings several bug fixes and introduction to a couple of new features.
Other than the normal Lollipop goodies like lock screen notifications, material design, screen pinning, smart lock, and Android Runtime (ART), there are also tweaks for a simpler Samsung TouchWiz UI as well as updated native Samsung apps.
These new features include the slow motion feature which allows users to record videos in slow motion, similar to the one found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Not only that, there is also the Smart Lock feature which makes the unlocking of your phone easier. Whenever a trusted Bluetooth device or NFC tag is in range of the phone, the security lock gets disabled.
As per previous software releases, the Android 5.0.1 update for the Galaxy Note 4 will be distributed to Malaysian users in batches. Some users might get it immediately while others might need to wait a few more days.
