The fifth series of the Dota 2 International returns as the top Dota teams from around the world once again fight for the Aegis of Champions. The Dota 2 tournament will be happening from the 3rd to 8th August 2015 in KeyArena, Seattle. Tickets for the grand Dota 2 event will go on sale tomorrow (28 March 2015) via ticketing agent, Ticketmaster.
Valve is the company responsible for developing Dota 2 and organising the International. The company has set ticket prices at $99 (about RM365), which gives full access to all six days of the event. The tickets will be sold in two batches, one at 10AM PT (1AM local time – 28 March 2015) while the second batch will starts at 10PM PT (1PM local time- 28 March 2015).
Fans need to take note that there is a ticket purchasing limit of five tickets per household, which spans across both batches. The Dota 2 team also mentioned in their blog that the VIP tickets will not be sold directly to Dota 2 fans, as it will be revealed in the near future.
Dota 2 is an immensely popular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, played by millions all over the world. Last year saw The International 2014 raise a prize pool of over $10 million (about RM36,776,000) from ticket sales and also sales of the Compendium. This year, the top 16 Dota 2 teams in the world will gather in Seattle, Washington to face off against each other in order to gain the Aegis of Champions as well as the tournament’s prize pool.
