Earlier this year, Twitter bought a company called Periscope and if you were wondering what are they going to do with it, here it is. Twitter recently unveiled a new app named after the company that lets you share live video broadcast right from your mobile phone.
Pictures are a great way for people to share visuals of what’s happening around them, but nothing beats watching a live video of something priceless – your child’s first steps, or witnessing a news worthy event with your very own eyes. The new app from Twitter allows you to directly share videos to the world or only to your friends and family with just several taps of a button.
Periscope is available for free for iOS devices with an Android version in the works. Broadcasters can just tap a button and their followers will instantly know that there’s something to view. As for viewers, you can easily watch and “step into someone else’s shoes” via Periscope, and respond to broadcasters by sending messages and expressing your love by “tapping the screen to send hearts”.
