Xiaomi is really one of the very few companies who has managed to grow exponentially ever since it was started five years ago; and it doesn’t plan to stop growing any time soon either. Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, has announced that the company is planning to sell as many as 80 to 100 million smartphones in 2015.
If you have followed Xiaomi news closely for the past year or so, you would know that the company has already set this ambitious target back in early 2014. In retrospect, the Chinese company might just be able to achieve it. After all, it did manage to sell over 61 million smartphones in 2014. On top of that, there aren’t that many smartphones that the company have released last year either – especially when you compare it against other competitors.
This year, Xiaomi has launched a slew of smartphones that will definitely help it achieve the ambitious sales figure. These include the Xiaomi Mi Note, the Mi Note Pro, and of course, the Redmi 2 which has just reached our shores a couple of weeks back. More likely than not, the company will definitely unveil the Mi 5 later this year, not to mention its mysterious product launch in celebration of its fifth birthday.
Who would have thought a five-year-old company will be the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world within such a short span of time. If Xiaomi keeps up its momentum, it might just realise its wish to be the world’s number one smartphone manufacturer in 10 years time.
