With just a week left before Malaysia’s GST kicks in on various consumer products in the country, Xiaomi Malaysia has announced how its products’ prices will be affected. Surprisingly, only one product will see a price increase: the Redmi Note 4G.
The Redmi Note 4G, introduced in Malaysia back in December last year, was priced at RM589. The new price of the Redmi Note 4G in Malaysia effective 1 April 2015 will be RM625, or a 6.11% increase from the original retail price.
Surprisingly, no other Xiaomi product will see an increase in retail prices – which should be good news for Malaysian consumers. That being said, we are seeking a statement from Xiaomi about the reasoning behind this. We’ll update this post when we receive one.
