Vector Introduces Two New Smartwatches with 30 Days Battery Life

Vector Smartwatch

If you’re frustrated with the smartwatches you’re seeing today that promises a lot but has very poor battery life, you might like these two new smartwatches from a new company called Vector – Vector Luma and Vector Meridian. Both watches can function like ay other typical smartwatch in the market, but they boast a pretty amazing battery life of up to 30 days.

The Vector Luna is the more premium of the two. It has a round watch face and retails at US$349, while the Vector Meridian has a rectangular display and is a lot more affordable at US$199. They run on Vector’s own propriety software so no Android Wear on this one, but Vector says that it can connect to most smartphones including Android, iOS and Windows Phone devices.

Vector Meridian

Design wise, both the Luna and Meridian look very much like a classic watch thanks to their metal bodies and metal link bands, and of course, the analogue watch face also contributes to that.

What makes the Luna and Meridian interesting is while it promises 30 days of battery life, it doesn’t compromise on functionality…not much at least. It still does what a typical full-fledged smartwatch can do like keep you connected to your phone to show you notifications, track your physical activities, as well as sleep; the display is always on too.

However, instead of a fancy coloured touch display, Vector has opted for a monochrome display instead. It’s non-touch, so any interactions would have to be done via the buttons located on the side of the smartwatches. Vector claims that monochrome displays would have better legibility under bright sunlight, and of course, makes the battery last a lot longer.

The Vector Luma and Meridian will be available later globally via Vector’s own online store. Will Vector succeed against the bigger players like Android Wear, Apple Watch and even Pebble? Its promising battery life might.
