Borderlands 2 publisher 2K Games is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this weekend, and Steam is holding one of its famous sales to celebrate. With discounts of up to 80-percent, this is a good time to catch up on any missed titles 2K games; at least before the next big Steam sale.
Most notable on the list is the recently released Evolve, an asymmetrical shooter that pits a team of four hunters against a single giant monster. While some reviews indicate that the amount of content is rather limited, the developer, Turtle Rock Studios is currently releasing new maps and content for free. Evolve has the smallest discount of the lot, going for 25-percent off; which in understandable considering how new it is.
Other noteworthy games are the Civilization series. Three main titles in the series are available, including the second best game in the series: Civilization IV. Civilization V and Beyond Earth are also available, and both should be new enough to appeal to modern gamers.
Older games that are appearing on the sale are the excellent Bioshock series, both new X-com games, and all three Borderlands games. Even older games like Sid Meier’s Pirates (the remake) and Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol are also on offer, and both of these games are still enjoyable despite not being triple-A titles. At less than RM7 for each, there really is no reason to avoid them.
The biggest offer of the 2K 10th anniversary sale is the bundle, which includes every game in the sale (sans Evolve) for just RM93.10. That is RM720 worth of games for less than the price of a single new game. A great deal, unless you’re like the rest of us and already own more than half the games on sale (and have never played them).
The 2K 10th anniversary sale will run until 23 March. Maybank card holders should remember that they are still being blocked by default, and will need to be enabled by calling the customer support line.
