LG unveiled the AKA smartphone in its homeland, Korea back in 2014. LG Korea now announced that the AKA smartphone will be sold in five more countries – Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Singapore and Turkey, with additional markets announced in the future as they are confirmed.
Hong Kong will be the first to get these smartphones that come in four different personalities, or colours – Eggy (Yellow), Wooky (White), Soul (Navy) and Yo-Yo (Pink). They are the same device but fitted with different colour casings which gives the handset different animated eyes and themes. The top part of the phone will provide users important information when they need it, like notifications or the phone’s battery level.
The LG AKA has a 5-inch HD display, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage and microSD expansion capable of supporting cards up to 32GB. It will feature LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC connectivity. Besides that, it has an 8MP camera on the rear with a 2.1MP camera on the front, all powered by a removable 2,610mAh battery.
Pricing information for each country has not yet been revealed as the expansion of the LG AKA’s availability has not yet been reflected in LG’s regional websites. Seeing that our neighbouring country Singapore is getting it, the LG AKA might find its way into Malaysian users’ pockets in the future.
