Surprise surprise, specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active have already made it to the Internet. Intended as a more rugged variant of the Galaxy S6 (or even the Galaxy S6 edge), the S6 Active could boast water and dust resistance. Oddly enough, it might have a generous 3,500mAh battery as well.
The battery upgrade, if it turns out to be true, will be the first time an Active variant of the Galaxy flagship will have a bigger battery capacity. Looking back, both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5 Active have the same battery size as their “regular” variants. However, as this bit of information did not come directly from Samsung, it could turn out to be false.

Other specifications of the S6 Active remain the same as the Galaxy S6, which include a Samsung Exynos 7420 octa-core processed paired to 3GB of RAM, a 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED display, 32GB of internal memory, and 16MP rear and 5MP front-facing cameras. Since the S6 Active is meant to be more durable than its “regular” siblings, it will be interesting to see if it will retain the glass back, seeing as how glass isn’t exactly the most resistant material.
The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge were only announced last week, but it sure didn’t take long for the S6 Active’s specifications to be leaked. Perhaps it will be made available very closely to the S6 and S6 edge’s market availability? We’ll just have to wait to find out.
