Sony has just launched the Walkman NW-ZX2 in Malaysia. Unveiled back at CES 2015, this particular device actually runs on Android 4.2; but this is no smartphone. In fact, it is a high-resolution portable audio player. Bearing the Walkman moniker, the ZX2 is mostly aimed at audiophiles who enjoy good music quality on the go.

The ZX2 is definitely a premium device with its aluminium alloy frame. It has several neat audio-centric features as well, such as an S-Master HX digital amplifier for clearer sound, and DSEE HX techonology that can upscale your “regular” music to sound even nicer. It also supports files up to 192kHz/24-bit along with FLAC, MP3, WMA, AAC, WAC, AIFF, ALAC, and even DSD files.

To further drive the point home that the Walkman ZX2 is a high-end audio device, it has a huge 128GB of internal storage. If that’s not enough storage capacity, there is even a microSD card slot. In terms of battery life, it can apparently last up to 60 hours on a single charge.
