Even before the Apple Watch is officially announced, third-party manufacturers have already unveiled their products for the smartwatch. One such manufacturer has unveiled the Reserve Strap, which can apparently extend the Apple Watch’s battery life by up to 125%.
Judging by the website of the Reserve Strap, it seems to be in the very early stages of development. This could mean that it is merely a proof of concept for now, although pre-order for it is already up. Here’s what the company has to say about the Reserve Strap:
The band will have embedded batteries and utilize magnetic inductive charging similar to the new MagSafe wall charger for the Apple Watch. We don’t have hard numbers yet but based on current testing projections, we believe we will be able to increase the battery life of the Apple Watch by up to 125%.
Considering the fact that the Apple Watch reportedly has a rather disappointing battery life, perhaps the Reserve Strap will border on the list of “must-have” accessories for the upcoming smartwatch. Unless, of course, you take into consideration its rather high asking price of US$249 (about RM915). At this point, the Reserve Strap is still in the pre-order stage, so it’s probably wise to practice a little bit of caution before deciding to get it.
As we have previously written, Apple will be holding an event later at 1AM this morning. Will Apple unveil both the Apple Watch and the 12-inch MacBook Air at the event?
