Back at CES 2015 earlier this year, ASUS has not only unveiled Zenfone 2 for the first time to the world but has also brought forward the Zenfone Zoom. Designed for photography in mind, the new device has an uncanny resemblance to the famed Nokia Lumia 1020 which some called as the gold standard in mobile photography due to its 41-megapixels PureView camera.
While ASUS Zenfone Zoom’s sensor for its PixelMaster rear camera doesn’t has that much pixel count but 13-megapixels is still not shabby at all. Furthermore, the camera also contains plenty of other supporting features such as optical image stabilization system, laser auto-focus, 10-element lens, 3x optical zoom, and dual-color Real Tone flash.
As expected, the device made an appearance at ASUS booth in MWC 2015 but unfortunately, it was there just as a display item. Hence, we were not able to get some hands on time with the device but nevertheless, it does made sense as why ASUS has kept it behind the barricade since there are several aspect of the Zenfone Zoom that the company has yet to clarify.
These unknown aspect include its processors and RAM. Nevertheless, ASUS has announced early on that the Zenfone Zoom will be released into market within the second quarter of 2015 with a price tag of USD 399 (RM 1,456).
