The Huawei Watch is arguably one of the best-looking Android Wear device that has been unveiled. However, if this rumour is any indication of its retail price, even its good looks will not justify such a massive price tag. According to a source, the Huawei Watch will allegedly cost a whopping US$1000 (about RM3,655).
Yes, approximately three thousand six hundred and fifty five hard-earned ringgit. With that kind of money, you can get yourself a 128GB iPhone 6 Plus with change to spare, which says a lot. What is Huawei thinking?
But let’s take a step back and give Huawei the benefit of the doubt. The Huawei Watch comes in three colours: black, silver and gold. It’s possible that only the gold version will cost that much, seeing as how it looks like a rather premium variant of the smartwatch.
In any case, this is simply a rumour with no confirmation from Huawei yet. Until an official retail price has been announced by the company, it’s better to take this rumour with a grain of salt. Then again, who knows how much Huawei will charge for a smartwatch with a sapphire crystal lens?
