Many thought that this device would be the Lenovo Vibe Z3 Pro, but apparently it is the Lenovo Vibe Shot. The company has unveiled its latest smartphone at MWC, a 16MP camera smartphone that features optical image stabilisation and a BSI sensor. It really does look more like a camera than a smartphone.
The phone touts a 5-inch 1080p display with 400+ ppi density. Powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 615, the device has 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage to store all those photos and videos. If that is not enough, there is also a microSD card slot on board. The phone will be a dual nano-SIM device, having LTE connectivity as well as a 2,900mAh battery under the hood to power the device.
The smartphone will have a 16MP BSI sensor on the back which features 16:9 format coupled with improved low-light capabilities. It also boasts the tricolor LED flash that automatically adjusts the photo’s luminosity according to ambient lighting condition. Not only that, it has a six-element lens that is coated in sapphire for extra protection as well as infrared focusing which Lenovo claims to have twice as fast focus speeds compared to the normal AF system. Meanwhile, the front of the device sports a generous 8MP camera for selfies.
The company has managed to fit all of that into a 7.3mm thin aluminium-built chassis with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front and back of the device. The Lenovo Vibe Shot will be available to the public in June 2015 with the price tag of $349 (about RM1268) and comes in two colors – grey and red.
