If you think you’re pretty skilled in Super Mario World, then you should definitely check out Item Abuse 3, a custom level that was designed by a fan of the game. Just recently, a player was finally able to beat the game after three long years, but it was none other than the level designer himself.
PangaeaPanga is the designer of Item Abuse 3: The Finale, which he dubs as the “hardest Super Mario World level in existence,” and frankly speaking, it sure looks like it. Just by watching him play through the impossible level is stressful.

If you’re wondering there’s no way an ordinary human being could play this flawlessly, that’s because PangaeaPanga actually used tools to assist him with the level. Even though this isn’t a legitimate playthrough, it doesn’t make his achievement any less impressive. It took him a whopping 78,160 amount of tries to finish this video.
On top of that, PangaeaPanga designed the level especially for Tool-Assisted Speedrunners (TAS). He wants Item Abuse 3 to really stand out among his earlier levels, Item Abuse 1 and Item Abuse 2. “Here, I wanted to really push the limits to even Tool-Assisted Speedrunners,” he said.
If you think you can beat the level, you can try it out here. But be warned, even the level designer declared “anyone who can complete this is pretty much mentally insane.”
