At the recent Samsung SEA Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand, the Korean company announced that its new lineup of SUHD TVs will be coming to Malaysia. Powered by the company’s own Tizen platform, the SUHD TVs are the company’s new line of premium flagship televisions.
The new SUHD TVs that are heading to Malaysian shelves ranges from 55″ to 88″ with the model number JS9500, JS9000 and JS8500. The bigger and more exclusive models that measures up to 105” will also come to Malaysia however, they are only available upon order whereby they will be manufactured in Korea and shipped to Malaysia. Like all 2015 lineup of Smart TVs from Samsung, these new SUHD models are also powered by Tizen.
With Tizen on board, all of Samsung’s new smart TVs in 2015 will not only come with new features, but also more intuitive UI, a more integrated entertainment experience, and more ways to access content than before. It also provides better integration with other Samsung products, especially its Galaxy devices.
Some of the most interesting features include the ability to stream content from a Galaxy device to the TV – this means that if you were watching a show on your tablet upstairs and want to continue watching on the TV downstairs, it can easily be done. Another interesting feature is if the alarm on your phone goes off, you can choose to have it turn on your TV as well, and have all your notifications displayed on the big screen.
Samsung’s new SUHD TVs was first announced back in CES 2015. The “S” represents that it is the most premium, flagship television offered by Samsung. It brags a “design to excite all of the senses, with sensational picture quality, seamless interaction and stylish design.

Samsung will also be bringing over its new standard UHD TVs to Malaysia that will all be powered by Tizen. As for older Samsung Smart TV owners, Samsung says that those with evolution Kit will be able to update their software (as well as certain hardware), to Tizen so even your 2012 Smart TVs from Samsung will be able to receive some of the latest software features.
No pricing or availability has been mention with regards to the Evolution Kit, but judging from previous generations, it won’t be cheap. For those of you who don’t need fancy televisions or are looking for a second one for your home, the company will also be bringing in its lower end Full HD TVs, and even its standard HD TVs.
In addition to new televisions, Samsung also showed off its new audio equipment – the Omni-directional 360 audio, as well as a new Curved Soundbar. Also introduced in CES 2015, the new Omni-directional 360 Audio – WAM7500/6500 speakers can provide rich-bodied sound that fills up an entire room. With a simple and hassle-free setup process – just connect the speaker to a router and plug the unit in, the Omni-directional 360 speakers can be used with Samsung’s TVs, as well as other mobile products, and can be paired with each other too.
As for the new Curved Soundar, it has a sleek and clean design, making it a perfect accessory for the company’s curved TVs from 48” to 78”. The newly introduced 8500 series offers enhanced sound quality with 9.1 channel audio, featuring a central speaker and side speakers on each end. The Curved Soundbar allows uses to stream music through its multiroom functionality, and has a wieless connection to the TV through TV SoundConnect via Bluetooth. The two line of new speakers will also be heading to Malaysia.
