Gionee has stated last week that it will be unveiling a new ultra-slim smartphone at MWC 2015. Turns out, it will be the Elife S7. The company has just sent out invites for the new smartphone’s unveiling on the 2nd of March. Interestingly, several alleged images and specifications of the S7 have also appeared.
According to the leaked information, the S7 will be ridiculously thin at only 4.6mm. It also mentions a respectable 2,800mAh battery and 2GB of RAM under its hood. Judging from the supposed images of the S7 though, it does look pretty thin, but unless Gionee can defy the laws of physics, it doesn’t look like a 2,800mAh battery will fit into that.
That being said, we suspect these images are not the Elife S7. For starters, a 2,800mAh battery in a phone that only measures at 4.6mm sounds very unlikely. But, more importantly, Gionee usually names its devices according to the thickness of it, like how the Elife S5.1 measures at 5.15mm. If the Elife S7 does measure at 7mm, it’s still relatively thin.
However, Gionee could be merely changing its naming scheme. In any case, we’ll find out on the 2nd of March 2015 at MWC 2015 when the company officially unveils the Elife S7.
