Xiaomi Malaysia has just posted a rather interesting teaser image on its Facebook page. Unless Xiaomi decides to venture into a whole new industry, the teaser could very possibly indicate the imminent arrival of the slim 5,000mAh Mi Power Bank that was unveiled for the Chinese market three months ago.
Retailing at a very competitive price of approximately RM28, the slim 5,000mAh Mi Power Bank is definitely an interesting product. Measuring at only 9.9mm, Xiaomi claims that it can be easily slipped into your shirt pocket.
The new power bank also has a Texas Instruments control chip with nine layers of chipset protection, much like the other Mi Power Banks that are currently in the market. Other than that, it boasts a 93% conversion rate, making it more efficient than the 5,200mAh Mi Power Bank. It also has a 2.1A output compared to the 1.5A output on the 5,200mAh model.
If you’re curious, this was how the new product was made; at least, according to Xiaomi:
Although the slim 5,000mAh Mi Power Bank retails at 49 Yuan (about RM28) for the Chinese market, we can probably expect it to be priced the same as the thicker 5,200mAh Mi Power Bank that goes for RM34 for the Malaysian market, seeing as how both power banks retail at the same price in China.
