NVIDIA has just sent out invitations for an event on the 3rd of March 2015. According to the invite, the mysterious event will showcase a gaming product five years in the making that will supposedly “redefine gaming.”
Other than that, there’s not much information to work on, except for the rather odd green square at the top of the invite which could really be nothing. However, NVIDIA did unveil something at the recent CES 2015 event: the new Tegra X1 mobile processor.
It’s not out of the realm of possibility for the company to unveil the successor to the NVIDIA Shield Tablet that will be powered by the new X1 processor. The green square pictured in the invite also looks a lot like a tablet, giving more credence to this. After all, NVIDIA did not showcase any new mobile product that is powered by the new processor at CES 2015.
Although it’s not unlikely a successor will be announced, the invite mentions that the new product has been in the making for five years. Even the original NVIDIA Shield was unveiled back in 2013, which is only two years back. But considering how vague the invite is, it’s anyone’s guess at this point.
The event will be held on the 3rd of March 2015 in San Francisco. Curiously, the event is happening right in the middle of MWC 2015 that will be taking place in Barcelona, which is pretty interesting.
