We are just mere weeks away from Mobile World Congress (MWC) where many manufacturers are expected to launch new smartphones at the event. However, some of them have decided to launch a selection of those products before MWC takes place instead such as the case with Sony who have officially taken the drape off the new Xperia E4.
Judging from its name, the Xperia E4 is the successor of Xperia E3 that was launched at IFA last year before it was subsequently released into Malaysian market in October 2014. Hence, we are not surprised to see that there are some similarities in terms of specifications between both devices such as 5-megapixels rear camera, 2-megapixels front camera and 1 GB of RAM.

That being said, plenty of components on Xperia E4 are far different as well. One big example is the usage of MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor on the device instead of a chip from Qualcomm as per Xperia E3. The new smartphone also features more internal storage at 8GB and bigger 5-inch qHD (960×540) IPS display.
Also available as Dual SIM variant, the new smartphone also features 2300mAh battery that apparently able to last up to two days. Unlike its predecessor though, Xperia E4 does not come with LTE connectivity which is rather unfortunate. Available in black and white, the information on Xperia E4’s pricing and availability for the Malaysian market is not yet known at the moment although we do know that it will be released throughout the world starting from mid-February onwards.
